Gordon Ramsay is from Scotland

Ramsay was born on November 8, 1966, in Johnstone, which is a town in Renfrewshire in Scotland. He has always been open about living in a council flat as he did not have a privileged upbringing. According to Wikipedia, his family then moved to Stratford-Upon-Avon when he was a child.

His first career choice was not cooking, as he originally intended to become a professional football player. It was reported in the New York Post that the feud began in 2009 when Batali described Ramsay’s food as outdated and dull.
