Additional Tips

  • You can serve this dish hot or cold. If you want to serve it cold, make it in advance and then leave it to chill.
  • If you do not like walnuts, then simply omit this ingredient.
  • I like to use stilton cheese, but you can use any blue cheese you wish.
  • To make this as a vegetarian main course for a nice lunch, simply serve both halves of the pear and increase the salad size.
  • Season the baked pears with blue cheese and walnuts with black pepper if you wish to add a peppery flavour.
